Specific Heat Capacity of Water (DCP and CE) free essay sample

The uncertainty in time interval is taken 0.1s because the stopwatch we used had a least count of 0.1 s and was digital. Here, uncertainty in temperature is 0.5 °C because the least count of the thermometer was 1 °C and it was an analog thermometer. So uncertainty is half the least count. Now, the average temperature was calculated by taking the sum of the four temperature values for a specific time and dividing the sum by 4. The uncertainty in temperature was calculated by finding the difference between the maximum value and the minimum value and then dividing it by 2. Sample Calculations: 1. Average temperature = (27+28+28+27)/4 = 27.5 = 28 °C 2. Uncertainty in temperature = (Max-Min)/2 = (28-27)/2 = 0.5 = 1 °C Table 2: Table showing average temperature and uncertainty in this average with corresponding time Time/s  ± 0.1 s Average temperature/ °C Uncertainty in temperature/ °C The relatively low percentage uncertainty and discrepancy show that the experiment was very precise and accurate. This means that both random and systematic errors were very low. We will write a custom essay sample on Specific Heat Capacity of Water (DCP and CE) or any similar topic specifically for you Do Not WasteYour Time HIRE WRITER Only 13.90 / page However, there is an outlier in the graph, so there was a systematic error for that value of ‘t’. According to the hypothesis, the graph was supposed to be a straight line which passes through the origin. But here, we can see a y-intercept. This means that even when the time was zero, there was a certain temperature (23.8 °C). Here, we know that this is the temperature of the water according to the surrounding when the heating process had not started. And the value from the graph (23.8 °C) is quite close to the actual observed value during the experiment (26 °C). The range of the y-intercept also includes a value that can be explained with the same explanation. ERROR EVALUATION As mentioned above, the low percentage uncertainty and discrepancy shows that the errors are not very significant. The errors are listed below along with improvements. Random errors: 1. Difficulty in measuring temperature – Measuring the temperature while it was rising was a little tricky as both the time and the temperature had to be observed simultaneously. This was, however, made easier by having two people in the team. 2. Temperature of water is not same throughout the beaker – This means that the water heating does not take place uniformly, so the relative position of the heater and the thermometer affects the values of temperature. Using a heater from the bottom and keeping the thermometer at a fixed height from the bottom would reduce this error. 3. Least count of thermometer – The thermometer we used had a least count of 1 °C which is quite high. Using a temperature probe would give us more precise values. Systematic errors: 1. Time taken to heat the heater itself – The heater itself took some time to heat up which could be the cause for the outlier in the graph. 2. Heat lost to surroundings – Heat is lost to the atmosphere as well as the beaker while heating. This constantly decreases the amount of energy supplied, resulting in a lower value for ‘c’. Using a calorimeter with a lid would reduce this. 3. The beaker was kept open – This resulted in evaporation of water and, thus, a decrease in the volume of water. This would result in a decrease in the mass and therefore increase the value of ‘c’. Use of a lid to cover the beaker would help control this error. 4. The power of heater was not measured – We assumed the power mentioned in the packaging to be absolutely true and without uncertainties, but this might not be true. If we measured these ourselves, we would also know the uncertainties and therefore, get a more accurate value. 5. Power of heater changes with change in temperature – A change in temperature results in a change in the resistance of the heating coil and therefore, the power changes as well. 6. Use of tap water – Tap water contains many impurities, which affects water’s specific heat capacity. Using distilled water would help reduce this. 7. Beaker and heater were not cooled down completely after each trial – The beaker and the heater were rinsed a few times very briefly. This means that they were not cooled down properly and therefore, that provided certain energy to the water. This decreases the value of ‘c’. 8. The volume of water was measured instead of the mass – The density of water was assumed to be 1 gcm-3, which might not be true because of the impurities in tap water. Directly measuring the mass would have given better results. From these, the most significant errors would be the heat lost to the surroundings and the evaporation in the process. Controlling these two would give a more accurate result.

The Korean War Essays - Member States Of The United Nations

The Korean War Essays - Member States Of The United Nations The Korean War A cry rang out, June 24, 1950, from a small country half way around the world and America listened. Korea was engaged in a civil war as an attempt to keep North Korea from thrusting its influence on South Korea. Communist Russia and China were strong supporters of the North, and to keep Communism contained the United States sent troops to the South. Our troops spent years fighting and dying for a country some had never heard of. The irony of this war is that no one really paid attention and its memory withered as well as the memory of the men who fought there. You may ask how this could?ve happened or how it all came about, and ,yes, there is an answer it just may be a little difficult to explain. Korea?s geographical realties affected the conduct of war at the strategic, the operational, and the tactical level. It?s strategic location made it a collision point for competing interests of major power throughout the world. As far as the actual land mass, Korea is a country no larger than the state of Kansas. All together, North and South Korea covers an area of 85,246 square miles, and only fifteen percent of that can be considered plains - these are mostly in the southern coastal regions. The United States could not allow its interests in East Asia, particularly Japan, to be placed in jeopardy. It was not the nation of Korea per se but its geographical location that prompted America to intervene in the war. (Sommers, 3-10) The United Nations was greatly concerned with the war in Korea, but it did not have a army to send. Thus, the United States Army made up four fifths of the actual forces sent to Korea. The bulk of the forces sent were placed under the command of General MacArthur. One of the first attempts to drive the North Koreans back was a wise plan divised by MacArthur. He landed his forces from the sea at Inchon and worked his way up the coast. His gamble paid off when his army retook the South Korean capital of Seoul. After this victory the United States questioned whether they should stop at the 38th parallel or go beyond it and try to recapture North Korea. They decided to go on. After the 38th was crossed putting the US and South Korean forces in the North , China threatened to send troops in to defend North Korea. After many deliberations the United States decided to continue on. As they said they would, China stepped into the war and drove the Southerners back sixty miles below the 38th parallel, recapturing Seoul. (Boorstin and kelley, 723-726) The war was a stalemate. No one side could get the upper hand. Some people questioned whether this would evolve into World War III. Peace negotiations seemed hopeless because the North refused to compromise and so they closed the negotiations. The United States had no choice but to use their last alternative. They threatened to bomb China and to use atomic bombs on Korea. These threats reopened the peace negotiations. Three years, one month, and two days later the war ended. Cease-fire came at 10:00 P.M., and an armistice was signed by North Korea and the United Nations on July 27, 1953. (Boorstin and Kelley, 723-726) The Korean War was the first American war ever waged that was not fought for national survival, for territory, for Manifest Destiny, or for hegemony. This was also an ideological war. For the first time in the nations history Americans were asked to fight and die to contain an idea. The Korea War ended in an ambiguous victory, that was purchased dearly. The United States spent sixty-seven billion dollars on this one war. With that amount of money we could have traveled to the moon and back two and a half times. (At the cost of our first excursion to the moon.) They war was also purchased with the blood of millions. Soldiers and civilians alike on both sides of the battle gave their lives for what they believed in and some had no idea what was going on until it was too late.

Annotated Bibliography - Essay Example ents disagree that the Direct Method is the most appropriate technique and 86% do agree that carefully planned translation activity can play a useful role in the L2 communicative classroom†¦Ã¢â‚¬ (Druce, 2012, p.1). The information created in the journal article provides much information to teachers. Teachers are required to enable students to acquire a second language with much ease. The article introduces attitude management and translation. In interpreting this article, one may point out that teachers are required to enable students develop positive attitudes towards their second language acquisition experience. It may be made successful by putting in place mechanisms that recognize social and cultural fluency. However, the recommended strategies may have numerous limitations. One limitation is that translation may hinder the effectiveness at which a student develops fluency in the new acquired language. This assumption hinders the credibility of the article. The article has presented my idea on teaching on second language acquisitions. Attitude development in the classroom setting has been cited as a requirement that was not considered in prior mechanism of teaching. Second language acquisition is based on the ability of a person to acquire an internal memorization of a new language (Donesch-Jezo, 2011). The main argument created by the article is that input and output of language properties are mandatory for a person to acquire a new language. The article is of the assumption that tutors are usually keen to provide input and not vigilant to monitor the output by students. The article addresses language output as the main topic. The article asserts that, â€Å"†¦another component which is required for successful second language learning is output†¦Ã¢â‚¬ (Donesch-Jezo, 2011, p.11). In addition, in order for a tutor to teach a new language, they must understand how it is acquired by the learners. In regards to relevance, the article introduces an important aspect

A critical analysis of a recent PR, advertising or social media Essay

A critical analysis of a recent PR, advertising or social media campaign - Essay Example Given the decision to do commercial advertising, Nike first ventured in printing advertisements that appeared in major dailies in the United States. The company also invested in magazine advertisements. Before the year 1982, Nike put more focus on sponsorships as well as the trending celebrity endorsements. Since that period, the celebrity advertisement has revolutionized, with many corporate entities embracing the need to collaborate with celebrities in a bid to convince more customers to use their products (Cronin, 2004). It was in the same year that Nike hired the services of Wieden + Kennedy, an advertising agency that has since then had strong ties with this giant sportswear company. It is with the help of the partnership with Wieden that Nike begun airing advertisements across television channels in the United States. Television advertising was a boost for the image of the company, as many of the elite group had access to television. Television advertisements helped the company to emphasize more on the technical superiority of its products, therefore positioning the company as a brand for aspiring and serious athletes across various sporting disciplines. In addition to highlighting their product superiority, Nike ventured into advertising their fashion accessories across the young customers, promoting their merchandise across schools and other sporting institutions (Wernick, 1991). The activities of the Nike Company in advertising played a major role in the internationalization of the company. Over the past three decades, Nike has grown to various overseas sporting leagues, with the company being a major corporate figure that sponsors major athletes in the sporting world. This growth in revenue as well as the involvement in multinational sporting markets defines Nike as a global leader in the sporting market. Soccer is no exception. However, the authority of Nike in the soccer

Risks Associated With the Use of Tobacco Term Paper

Risks Associated With the Use of Tobacco - Term Paper Example Sadly, the users of tobacco seem not to care or are so addicted to this substance, such that are at an impasse to act. Today many researches by medical practitioners point out that 75% of all lung cancer deaths are tobacco related. Unfortunately, some of those affected are direct passive smoking. Likewise, use of tobacco accounts for more than 20% of heart diseases deaths (Cordry, 2001). Many individuals such as myself have had it difficult coping with the users particularly close friends. Despite these known alarming rate that are associated with use of tobacco and the cause of poor health as well as death many still put their love ones and the public at risk through second hand smoking related risks. However, there are behavioral or other changes can be made to minimize the situation. One of such can be heavy penalty on users of tobacco in public for it affects many non-smokers. Likewise, there is need to regulate advertisement and if possible ban it all together to help curb new users. These will have a direct influence in users and help minimize the associated risks (Graves, 2000). In summary, there are a lot of risks that are directly associated with passive users of tobacco. The risks are health related and affect large portion of the population. However there are a lot that can be done by the government including fines to minimize these

Impact of Olympic Games on Host Cities

Impact of Olympic Games on Host Cities Introduction: According to Turner (1982), persons in all cultures identify the need to set aside assured times and spaces for common creativity and commemoration. This was the value of events in ancient period and the evolution of an event in human culture and tradition. Any event or occasion where public assembles for any of these purpose which is celebration, marketing, education or reunion can be termed as event. Any special major event such as World cup or Olympic Games can attract millions of visitors from in and outside the country which will eventually boost the countrys economy. To organise the major event hosting country will invest huge sum of money in transportation, communication and infrastructure which will leave a lasting legacy for the whole economy of the country and also a lot of opportunity and benefits to the locals as well as for the whole residents of the hosting nation directly or indirectly. The aim of this research will be to analyse and evaluate the impact of events in China after hosting the 2008 Olympic games although the essay will try to highlight the event and its types furthermore it will briefly analyse the concept of event management in terms of planning, staging and monitoring an event specially the Olympic games, similarly evaluating the benefits and challenges that the china had gone through in hosting the 2008 Olympic games and finally the positive and negative impact in China after hosting the Olympic games in 2008. Beijing Host of the Olympic Games 2008 China is one of the rapidly developing country and one of the emerging power of the world, which hold the area about 9.6 million square kilometres is located in eastern part of Asia, the pacific west bank which has the largest population among the globe approximately 1,333,212,646 represent ting different faith, cultures and language .China is nearly about 50 latitude from north to south and 5200 kilometres away from east to west crossed the five time zones about longitude 60 degrees. The east part of the china is closest with ocean with a long coast, convenient transport facilities and large numbers of ports which makes china easy to communicate with the rest of the worlds ports and travel of tourists. Based on the specific criteria to be eligible to host the Olympic Games which was set by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) there were five selected cities selected to be the finalist by the International Olympic Committee which were Beijing, Toronto, Paris, Osaka and Istanbul after receiving and reviewing the application of 10 cities to bid the host of 2008 Olympic game. Beijing won a complete majority of votes in July 2001from the member of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) following two round of voting to host the Olympic Games after beating four competing cities which were Toronto, Paris, Osaka and Istanbul. Beijing had lost the same battle for 2000 Olympic Games with Sydney by two votes. Since they hold the games for 2008 they had got just 7 years to make ready for the mega event Olympic games which was later organised in 2008 successfully. From 8th August 2008 to 24th August 2008 the major international multi -sport event took place in Beijing; China. Analyse the concept of event management in terms of planning, staging and monitoring an event-Olympic games Event planning A successful event or seminar takes a clear vision and an enormous amount of planning, details and follow up. Successful Event planning is a valuable resource and a must have for any department or organization that puts on events or seminars regardless of size. Karen R. McLaughlin, APR, CEO, QB Comm., Inc., Rochester, NY Event planning is the life blood of a flourishing event- from building and designing the venues through setting up risk management, holding the test events, timetabling trustworthy transport and other necessary services. There are mainly two process of planning which is used in an event planning process. The two types of planning process are discussed below: Strategic planning Strategic planning can be defined as an instrument for organizing the present situation on the source of the projections of the preferred future. Or in specially Olympic Games termed strategic planning is a road map for any hosting cities to plan in the present situation to acquire the successes in the 7 years. Beijing has used different strategy as in terms of strategic planning process like using slogan one world one game, and different concept which was Green Olympics, High-tech Olympics and Peoples Olympics. Beijing also used different strategic tactics which was encouraging the whole nation to participate in the preparation for the Olympic Games, hosting the games to promote the social civilization, hosting the Games to improve the peoples living standards, create the new image of china and many more. Operational planning Operation planning is the planning which deals with the operation issue after setting the strategic planning which is defining how you will function in practice to execute your action and monitoring the plans that is how you will deal with the threat, how you will certify the sustainability of the projects achievements, how you will engage with the risk and what your ability needs are. Olympic operational planning is mostly important to conduct a successful Olympic Games. Operational planning should be well formulated and co- ordinate in order to get flawlessly and efficiently outcome. Mostly Olympic Games take place in a city, which are densely residential areas so while planning operational planning it needs to make sure those adjacent areas and the residue of the city to function as smoothly as possible all over the event. Event staging In simple meaning event staging is the planning and staging different stage which need to be place during any event. The simple format of the event staging is drawn below in a circle according to its importance but it can be varied from one event to another. There were 3 different phases which was used by Beijing in terms of event staging which are as follows: Pre -preparation phase This was the phase between December 2001 to June 2003 where Beijing plan to established the organisation structure of the BOCOG and also take all the necessary step to complete the construction of the Olympic venues and the facilities. In between those phase Beijing plan to put marketing programmes into operation and also plan to initiate the construction of EP facilities and urban infrastructure plus a number of tourist and cultural site. Development phase This was the phase from July 2003 to June 2006 where Beijing plan to complete its task set out in the 10th five- year plan and plan to swing the overall construction of the Olympic venues and other linked facilities. Beijing also plans to finish the major construction projects of the Olympic venues and other related facilities by June 2006. Improvement and operation phase It was the phase between July 2006 to the opening of the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games where Beijing plan to in place all the venues and related facilities which will be as per the standard requirement of the Olympic Games. In this phase all the inspection and any necessary improvement will be made to the venues and also test event will be conducted to guarantee the smooth operation and all the related services will be accessible. Monitoring an event To evaluate the benefits and challenges faced by China in hosting the Olympic Games. Benefits of hosting the Olympic Games Job creation Hosting a mega event like Olympic Games will create millions of jobs from construction to the hospitality and tourism related industry which will indeed leave a long lasting economic benefit for the hosting country and its communities. As per the official website of the Beijing Olympic , the Olympic Game helped in creating 1.8 million fresh jobs across all sectors of the financial system in year 2008.major building construction helps to create extra 430,000 jobs from 2004 to 2008 while there were 130,000 new jobs gained in the retail and wholesale industries. Publicity Through hosting the successful Beijing Olympics china has paved its importance as a vital player on the global stage .China showed its outstanding organization skill and strong governing capability from the opening to closing ceremonies in 2008 Olympic Games and in carrying out the Olympic Games itself. And also working together with the athletes ,the government ,the party and the ordinary Chinese people for the common purpose which was successful of the Olympic Games was an impressive movement showing the National unity and pride to the rest of the world. Infrastructures and tourism Beijing spent billions of dollar in constructing the new Olympic venues , parks and ,airports ,transportation leak and many small -medium to big five star hotels which was the everlasting benefit for the Chinese infrastructure and specially for Chinese tourism industries. Also Chinese government opened the door for foreign investors who were willing to invest in hotels ,tourism spots and some worked as a joint venture with the international travel agencies which were the huge benefit for the Chinese tourism industry. Challenges of hosting the Olympic Games Security Hosting the event especially mega event such as Olympic games is always been in threat because it is hosted by a Nation and it is highlighted to all over the world and the radical people belonging to different community and county are looking for the purpose of their voice to be heard. The modern world where we are leaving now days is always of security threat. None of any part of the world is free from its own security issue either it is from terrorist group or it is form the different radical communities. Beijing had faced different direct and indirect terrorist and radical communitys threat while hosting an Olympic Games in 2008. Before 1 day to opening ceremony of the Olympic Games in 2008 there was a video released by the A Chinese Islamic group who were demanding the independence for china western Xinjiang region to attack in the Olympic Games. According to Chinese officials there were 16 dead and 16 wounded when the Turkic Muslim group ramped into the joggers with the tossed e xplosives truck and also stabbed the victims . There were also people been arrested by the Chinese authorities during prior to opening ceremony who were carrying the homemade bombs and a gun holding the written letter that they were prepared to carry out the jihad. Financial strain Hosting an Olympic games will cost a lot of financial capital and in some cases the Olympic Games will create a lot deficit to the hosting country economy and it can take countrys economy years to come from that financial deficit. Montreal the host city of1976 Olympic Games is still paying off the cost of staging the 1997 Olympic Games and also Athens the host city of 2004 Olympic Games ran billions of Euros more than the original budget- at country expense. Altogether in total Beijing spent 280 billion Yuan including the Olympics specific operating costs and construction of infrastructure facilities. Finally the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games became the most expensive Olympic games in the throughout the Olympic history. Political China faced one of the largely politicised Olympic Games ever in the history. China was strongly criticized by different foreign Governments ,interest groups and other parties for its so-called appalling suppression of press ,human rights record and lack of democracy. Due to the apparent attack on peaceful protest in Tibet in march 2008 china faced more external pressure even some renowned individuals and foreign leaders boycott their participation in the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games. Pollution China faced huge challenges in controlling their air and water pollution during the time of Olympic Games.16 of 20 most polluted cities of the entire world are found in china with the highest level of particulate and sulphur dioxide anywhere. Supplying the clean water is another headache of the Chinese authorities. 100 out of 640 Chinese largest urban areas are facing water scarcity. A number of Chinese river are being pumped dry and the table water under northern part of china is rapidly falling down. China has spent $100 billion every year to find clean water and treat the existing dirty water. This tends to be a costly to both human beings and the Chinese economy. Evaluating the positive and negative impact of the Olympic Games in China. Hosting an event especially mega event like Olympic Games can have a range of both positive and negative impact overall in the hosting country and their community. Furthermore, to discuss the positive and negative impact of Olympic Games cannot be concluded in a paragraph, it needs to discuss touching main aspect of the country and society. So the author had tried to break down the positive and negative impact of the Olympic Games in china in following points. Positive impact of Olympic Games in China Economic Hosting a mega event like the Olympic Games had leave a huge economic impact in a country specially to a developing country like China as it had created new jobs , new opportunities to the citizen and country itself, more tax revenue to the country. After winning the bid to host Olympic games Beijing started to boom in hotel building reaching 174 four and five star hotels by the end of 2008 which was not the case in the year 2001 where there was only 64 four and five star hotels. The economy of the country boost with the Olympic Games directly and indirectly. The direct income will be from manufacture sponsors ,use advertisements at mass communicate TV , ticket earning where TV relay rights of 2008 in the Olympic games has managed to sold over one billion and six million. Also there was a prediction by different experts before the event took place. Tourism experts expected that there will be 4.5 million tourist which will be from inbound and outbound in Beijing in 2008 and industry a nalysts predicted that there will be approximately US$4.5billion inbound spending by visitors in 2008 Olympic games. There was prediction by the Beijing tourism administration that there will be 550,000 international visitors during the game. Social and Culture A mega event such as Olympic Games can have huge social and cultural impact in a society especially in china which has over 1.3 billion population showcasing different cultures and beliefs. The positive aspect of the mega event such as Olympic games in Beijing 2008 will create new jobs in different sector specially tourism and hospitality sector this will benefit local people in one or other way. Beijing spent nearly 20 million dollars for constructing new roads ,parks ,stadiums and an extended subway system for the preparation of Olympic Games. Beijing put so many efforts to improve air quality ,producing cleaner energy by using the natural gas ,regulating the factories. Because of Olympic game Beijing has upgraded the home heating method, put effort in improving the public transportation in a more convenient level, and improving the water treatment . For the preparation of Olympic game Beijing has invested huge sum of money in public transportation ,road ,airport ,water supply ,tel evision ,power supply and freedom in internet which was a huge benefit for the society of china. The difference noticed in the Beijing Olympic game was china focussed entire the nation rather than just focussing in the hosting city which was calculated as a huge benefit for the entire society of the china. Environmental China has a huge environmental problem ,the five most polluted cities is located at china. The leading cause of death in china is cancer which is from pollution. Almost 500 million people of china are lacking from safe drinking water and only 1 percent of countries 560million city dwellers are able to breathe fresh air. After bidding to host the Olympic games 2008 china announced a slogan that was green Olympic where china integrated green concept into Olympic venues which was seen a success to flow a message that china is concern with the environmental issue to the nation and to the entire world. China has spent $16.4 billion to reduce the pollution level ,they have impose new regulation over factories , use natural gases instead of using coal which was the major cause of pollution to produce cleaner energy, put effort in improving the water treatment and during the Olympic games over 300,000 buses and taxis were replaced with the emit less pollution vehicles. These all are the posi tive impact of the Olympic Games towards environmental benefit. Political Hosting a thriving Olympic Games can drive a city to world class position leading to business opportunities and increased tourism specially it will leave effective impact in developing cities like Beijing. It will help a country or cities to create a lasting profile and also it will lift the countrys prestige to international level. It also helps community to stand together for common purpose that will help in uniting the community. In theÂÂ  antiqueÂÂ  Olympics was used ÂÂ  asÂÂ  aÂÂ  typeÂÂ  ofÂÂ  tactÂÂ  through culture for the sake of peaceful decree of conflicts and differences. Olympic Games were used as the means of tactical civic diplomacy pressing in the era of post World War II for causes other than sports. China uses 2008 Olympic Games politically by maintaining the countrys uncompleted process of development and transformation, and addressing the serious problems. Demonstrating its hi-tech development ,socioeconomic revolution and i ts modernisation, accomplished in the course of peaceful development. Showing an attractive image of the state and using the games for improving the international relationship with rest of the world and also issuing rebuttals to deformed abroad reports about china. Finally successfully managing and organising the mega event like Olympic Games china showed rest of the world that china is not less than anybody its a great achievement for the nation . Negative impact of Olympic Games in China Economic Organising the Olympic Games need huge amount of money to be spent from the preparation to the closing ceremony and there is no guarantee that the money spent in Olympic Games will be always profitable for the country. There are couple of state which are suffering economically until today after holding the Olympic Games. Extra spending in the Olympic Games can boost the inflation rate in the Chinese economy which was already a existing problem in china plus tourism flood could put extra upward pressure in Chinese Yuan .During the process of cleaning the air quality and pollution of the Beijing city in the preparation of the Olympic Games, Beijing reduces its Beijing based manufacturing company by half and relocates some of the risky factories outside the city. It cost million dollar loses for the company and the country in terms of revenue making. It was estimated that the company will lose US$350 million as economic loss from reducing their production. Social and Culture In every event there will be certain benefit for some groups and there will be some loses or discomfort for certain groups. China also made some people unhappy during the process of urbanising the old Beijing city. Some urbanization victim residents fell sad of being their home destroyed and some were unhappy because they didnt have enough compensation of their property lost. During the Olympic period the HKS1(Hong Kong Sports Institute ) was converted to competition arena and training ground for dressing and show-jumping which create disruptive to the elite athletes who use to use it.8,400 employees of steel factory became jobless after the government impose rules to relocate some of the steel factories from the Beijing city. Around 30,000 construction labourers mostly migrated from rural regions and villages of china which were used as a cheap labour during the construction of Olympic venues and related facilities and also some cheap labourer became victim of unpaid salary ,maximum hour ,and risky job. Environmental During the Olympic Games there will be enormous people in the hosting city who will come from different parts of the world which can create pollution, traffic jams, and congestion And it can turn into overcrowded problem. Plus there can be a chance of destruction of different parks and heritage as during the period of Olympic Games the hosting city will need huge open space for public toilets , crew changing room , and so on. Talking about Beijing since they focus on Green Olympic Games they tried to minimise the environmental damage as far as they could. But they also faced the overcrowded problem during the Olympic Games in 2008 , a huge congestion and traffic jam issue, sound pollution and so on. Political While organising the mega events like Olympic Games hosting nation need to go huge political challenges and barriers since there will be a lot of chances of political rights form different groups inside the country and now a days there can be a chances of terrorism attack and also there will be a chance of different state and political parties to use the Olympic Games for their own political and national benefits. Plus its the time for different world campaigners such as different human rights group and environmental protectionist to raise their campaign. China faced a lot of political problems while organising the Olympic Games in 2008. There were huge rights in Tibet at the time of Olympic Games who were demanding the separate state from the china. There was a voice from inside and outside the country defending for the Chinese monopoly system. There were a voice for democracy in terms of freedom of press, internet and rights. There were different attempts of terrorism by different terrorist groups trying to fail the effect the Olympic Games and scared the Chinese Government. China also went through huge criticisms from different nation head and political parties some of them even boycott their presence in the opening ceremony.

Confucius Paper :: essays research papers

According to tradition, Confucius was born in the state of Lu (present-day Shandong Province) of the noble K'ung clan. His original name was K'ung Ch'iu. His father, commander of a district in Lu, died three years after Confucius was born, leaving the family in poverty, but Confucius nevertheless received a fine education. He was married at the age of 19 and had one son and two daughters. During the four years immediately after his marriage, poverty compelled him to become a sevant for the chief of the district in which he lived. His mother died in 527 BC, and after a period of mourning he began his career as a teacher, usually traveling about and instructing the small body of disciples that had gathered around him. His fame as a man of learning and character and his reverence for Chinese ideals and customs soon spread through the principality of Lu. Living as he did in the second half of the Zhou (Chou) dynasty (1027?-256 BC), when feudalism degenerated in China and conspiracy and evildoing were constant, Confucius deplored the contemporary disorder and lack of moral standards. He came to believe that the only remedy was to convert people once more to the principles of the sages of antiquity. He therefore lectured to his pupils on the ancient classics. He taught the great value of the power of example. Rulers, he said, can be great only if they themselves lead free lives, and were they willing to be guided by moral principles, their states would sure become prosperous and happy. Confucius had, however, no opportunity to put his theories to a public test until, at the age of 50, he was appointed magistrate of Chung-tu, and the next year minister of crime of the state of Lu. His administration was successful; reforms were introduced, justice was fairly dispensed, and crime was almost eliminated. So powerful that Lu became the ruler of a neighboring state maneuvered to secure the minister's dismissal. Confucius left his office in 496 BC, traveling about and teaching, vainly hoping that some other prince would allow him to undertake measures of reform. In 484 BC, after a fruitless search for an ideal ruler, he returned for the last time to Lu. He spent the remaining years of his life in retirement, writing commentaries on the classics. He died in Lu and was buried in a tomb at Ch'Ã ¼-fu, Shandong.

Glamourous

Dylon de Leon ENGL 100-08 QFRA 6-11 (pg. 186) Feb. 22, 2013 GLAMOUROUS What is glamour? How does it differ from looks, fame and fortune? In paragraph 12 of the article, the first few sentences are very effective. They use 3 people that a lot of people know today and go straight to the point about who they are in the political world. This is an example of Givhan’s strategy that was shown to be effective. Givhan uses a few strategies throughout his article. One of the specific strategies was using famous and glamourous people that we see today as rich and famous and see as having fame and fortune. Another good strategy that he uses is pointing out the face between actors that they are not all what they seem and that who they really are isn’t who we see in public, and that what we are really seeing and who we really think they are is just an act. He points out that really glamour makes people forget about who they are and make everything seem so beautiful in the world.Givha n’s claim is simply that the people who we see living their lives full of fortune and happiness is simply not correct. He claims that glamour is just simply not all that great. Givhan states that glamour is situated in the now while cool is a step ahead. This claim makes perfect sense because glamour is just something that is seen in the moment and not in the future. Cool on the other hand is something that is seen outside of what is on the big screen, therefore is seen in more than just the present. It may just be the way that I look at it that makes sense. You can tell the difference between Glamour, Charisma, and cool, by what they show and what makes each characteristic what it is. Glamour is a sort of fairytale, Charisma is personal, and cool is just, well, cool. If someone was to want to be cool, I would suggest that they do something to inspire people as a famous person. Cool isn’t about having lots of stuff and looking good, there is a big difference. To be cool , you have to show the people that you are cool and show the people you are more than just good looks.

Many Thousands Gone essays

Many Thousands Gone essays Ira Berlins Many Thousands Gone Berlin traces the evolution of black society from the first arrivals in the early seventeenth century through the American Revolution, reintegrates slaves into the history of the American working class, and reveals the diverse forms that slavery and freedom assumed before cotton was the mainstay of the slave economy. You witness the transformation that occurred as the first generations of Creole slaves, free blacks, and indentured whites gave way to the plantation generations, whose exhausting labor was the sole engine of their society and whose physical and linguistic seclusion sustained African traditions on American soil. Berlin demonstrates that the meaning of slavery and of race itself was continually redefined, as the nation moved toward political and economic independence. Berlin argues that despite an inherent power imbalance, slavery was a negotiated relationship between slave and owner. Even in the worst of circumstances, slaves always held a strong card: the threat of rebellion. Through this negotiation, slaves not only carved out an independent social sphere from sundown to sunup, they created their own world under the owners' noses from sunup to sundown as well. Additionally, slavery itself continually changed, and hence the terms of the relationship frequently had to be renegotiated. Slavery was not a static institution, as many historians have portrayed it. Berlin's signal contribution is to drive home that slave life differed from place to place and from time to time. Berlin divides his study by both place and time. He identifies and examines four distinct slave societies in the first 200 years of North American slavery: the North; the Chesapeake Bay area; the coastal low country of South Carolina, Georgia, and eastern Florida; and the lower Mississippi Valley of west Florida and Louisiana. He periodizes slave history and slaves themselves into the chart ...

Childhood Obesity in America Essay Example

Childhood Obesity in America Essay Example Childhood Obesity in America Essay Childhood Obesity in America Essay Ahhh there is nil better than waking up at midday to the odor of some freshly cooked bacon and a heaping heap of blueberry battercakes. Mom makes them fresh every weekend forenoon. Normally the bacon and battercakes don’t rather do the fast one so the larder is raided following. At the top of the larder next to the household size bag of Doritos. which will most likely be consumed subsequently in the dark. lays the hardest determination that will hold to be made all twenty-four hours long. Which one of these sugary cereals shall be devoured this forenoon and make full up the remainder of this already overstuffed belly? Reese’s Puffs. Lucky Charms. Fruit Loops. Fruity Pebbles. Cocoa Puffs or the tasteless Raisin Bran that Mom and Dad prefer. You can decidedly number out the Raisin Bran. Cocoa Puffs it is. After catching the largest bowl that could be found in the house. the Cocoa Puffs are smothered in cocoa sirup to do the already chocolate milk even more chocolaty and d elightful. After every last whiff goes down the hatch it is clip to chug the excess chocolaty milk right from the bowl. Now that the belly is wholly stuffed it is clip for a sleep. A sleep is necessary after a long dark of online gambling on the trade name new Xbox 360 that ma bought last hebdomad. The other participants don’t stand a opportunity after a hebdomad non-stop gambling with a few interruptions here and at that place for the much needed repasts and bathroom interruptions. After the well- merited napping session it is back to the large screen. Merely this clip it is non to play picture games because the carpel tunnel is moving up in the left manus once more. This clip it is to watch the Diners. Drive-ins. and Dives endurance contests on the Food Network. You merely can’t acquire adequate of the nutrient web. But all this talk about nutrient is doing the tummy rumble and it is clip for tiffin. Mom promised that she will take us to the McDonalds that is right down the stre et if the jobs were done. Small brothers are great. After stealing him a whole two dollars. the jobs are done in no clip and a McDonald’s dual one-fourth pounder with excess cheese is all that is on the encephalon. The clerk at the counter asked. Would you like to Supersize that sir? After believing for a 2nd about the elephantine container of french friess and the pail of coke the reply was easy. Yes. Ma’am! But why halt at that place? It is March and all those commercials about the new Shamrock Shake make it about intolerable. After a delightful tiffin the lone thing on the head on this beautiful Saturday afternoon is acquiring back to that large screen Television and playing the trade name new Call of Duty game. While all the other childs are outside running about feigning to hit each other. the existent action is inside this intense videogame. After an draining dark. it is clip to travel to bed with programs for tomorrows twenty-four hours on the head. Obesity is one of the taking preventa ble causes of decease in the United States. The article. Obesity in America: What’s Leading the Epidemic? provinces that about one 1000 people are killed each twenty-four hours from fleshiness. Obesity is measured by BMI or Body Mass Index. This measures how much organic structure fat person has based on their tallness and how much they weigh. The writer. Harvard Men’s Health Watch states that a BMI of 20 five or more qualifies as corpulence and a BMI of 30 or more qualifies as corpulent. About 63 % of Americans are considered fleshy and about 31 % are considered to be corpulent ( Harvard Men’s Health Watch 2012 ) . These Numberss are strikingly big. This article merely focuses on the grownups that are corpulent in the United States and doesn’t focus much on the kids. The kids are what America should truly be focused on because some twenty-four hours they will do up bulk of the population. The most corpulent kid in the universe is Jessica Guade who is seven old ages old and weighs four 100 and eighty two lbs. That is heavier than a bulk of people in the full universe. Every individual twenty-four hours she drinks 10 thousand Calories in Coca-Cola and consumes 15 beefburgers. She can’t even walk and gets around by turn overing. How can a parent make this to their kid? Are they afraid to state no or make they merely non care about their child’s wellness? This is what the American life is making to kids. These Numberss will go on to travel up and we will see more kids like Jessica if nil is done about this epidemic. American life is altering and people are accommodating to new civilization which is doing them concentrate less on their weight and visual aspect. The chief factors that contribute to the fleshiness outburst are the deficiency of exercising. watching manner excessively much telecasting. and eating excessively many nutrients that are high in Calor ies and fat. With the alterations in telecasting and advertisement on telecasting. Americans crave things that they see on Television. When you are watching Television you will see infinite fast nutrient advertizements where they make the nutrient expression so delightful and look like it was prepared in a five star eating house. This is merely one of the many fast ones that advertizers use in order to acquire people to purchase their merchandises. The sad portion is that most of the clip it works. Americans see all of these advertizements on Television and all they want to make is travel out and purchase it. These yearss kids are watching so much telecasting instead than playing outside. Young kids are the chief mark for some advertizers like McDonalds and Burger King. In all of their commercials they show images of kids eating their nutrient and it makes kids want to travel and acquire it. Not merely are at that place a batch of commercials about fast nutrients. but there are commercials about bites and drinks every bit good. Harmonizing to M. Mello in their article. Federal Trade Commission Regulation of Food Advertising to Children: Possibilities for a Reinvigorated Role . a bulk of the nutrient and drink advertizements on telecasting are publicizing things that are unhealthy for the human organic structure to devour ( Mello 2010 ) . The sum of these advertizements is pathetic and harmonizing to this article the FDA has had to get down cutting the dissemination of a batch of them. Not merely are the advertizements on Television a job. but the sum of telecasting that kids watch is an even bigger one. These days’ childs would instead remain indoors and watch Television and play video games instead than traveling outside and playing athleticss like the past coevalss. The picture games of this coevals have made it possible for kids to virtually play any athletics that they want alternatively of traveling outside and physically interrupting a perspiration and playing them. Television has made Americans so much lazier than they used to be. People don’t acquire out of the house about every bit much as they used excessively. Alternatively of traveling out to the ballpark and watching baseball games. they merely go out and purchase large screen telecastings and sit on their butts and watch them. Children loo k up to their parents and will accommodate these sorts of wonts from them. This is a immense ground why kids are going so corpulent in America. The sum of telecasting that childs ticker and how many video games they play has a direct correlativity to the deficiency of exercising in America these yearss. To kids. a videogame or sketch show is much more appealing than running about outside and exerting. Besides. the underdeveloped civilization of America as a whole has added to the deficiency of exercising in Americans. Technology has simplified about every facet of human life. Rather than walking everyplace like our ascendants did. everyone drives. or takes the coach. or does anything that keeps them from utilizing up their energy and interrupting a perspiration. As the parents of kids are making this. their kids adapt to that life style and in bend they end up making the same thing and get down to populate the manner that their parents live. In the old yearss you would see people walking all over the streets. but now that there are automobiles the streets a re merely lined with traffic. As metropoliss are going more civilised and advanced. there are less and less topographic points for people to work out. and for childs to run about and play outdoors. In the article. Contributions of Built Environment to Childhood Obesity by. T. Rahman. R. A. Cushing. and R. J. Jackson. it states that the vicinity the kid lives in has a immense impact on their wellness. For illustration. if there are bike waies and topographic points to play outside and run about. the kid will be more physically active. but if these things aren’t in topographic point. so the kid is more prone to remain indoors and watch telecasting and addition weight as a consequence of that ( Cushing 2011 ) . While watching telecasting they don’t have to acquire up to make anything any longer. Remote controls have changed the universe. You can alter the channel on the telecasting. turn on and off the visible radiations. and reply the phone right from your chair without acquiring up to make anything. The lone thing that people have to acquire up to make is travel and acquire more nutrient from the electric refrigerator. Less and less kids are going involved in sports and exercising. Traveling outside and running about is much less appealing to kids so it used to be. Lack of exercising is a immense contributing factor to fleshiness and kids and something demands to be done about it. Fast nutrient is so easy. quick. and convenient. Most Americans live a life style that is ever on the move and ever busy. It is really easy for them to turn to fast nutrient and catch a speedy repast before they go to work. Not merely is it fast and easy. but there are so many fast nutrient eating houses in the United States. In 1970 McDonalds operated near to one 1000 constitutions ; in 2002 about 35 1000 eating houses were being operated. An estimated two thousand new McDonalds are opened each twelvemonth. That is the route that most Americans choose instead than seeking to sit down and eat a place cooked repast. That goes along with the indolence of Americans. In this article from CBS intelligence Fast Food linked to Child Obesity . it states that Every twenty-four hours. about tierce of U. S. kids aged 4 to 19 eat fast nutrient. which likely battalions on about six excess lbs per kid per twelvemonth and increases the hazard of obesity ( CBSNEWS 2010 ) . Fast nutrient is so much faster and easier than traveling to the food market shop and acquiring all the ingredients needed to cook a nice healthy repast for your household. Alternatively most parents resort to the greasy. salty. and fatty nutrients that fast nutrient constitutions have to offer. Harmonizing to J. Hariss’s article Television Viewing and Unhealthy Diet: Deductions for Children and Media Interventions . Humans possess an unconditioned penchant for sweet. high-fat. and salty nutrients. and a reluctance to seek unfamiliar foods ( Hariss 2011 ) . Although some fast nutrient eating houses offer permutations like how McDonalds offers apples alternatively of Gallic french friess. most people do non take these permutations. Peoples are more concerned about gustatory sensation so wellness and to them. greasy salty nutrients gustatory sensation better than apples. The lone clip that kids would take to eat the healthier pick is when their parents are with them. Harmonizing to M. Stutts in their article. Nutrition Information and Children’s Fast Food Menu Choices . when kids go into fast nutrient eating houses entirely. they will take to eat whatever they want regardless of the fat content. When their parents went with them they influenced them to take the healthier points on the bill of fare ( Stutts 2009 ) . The job with the points on the fast nutrient bill of fare is that they are full of Calories. The recommended Calorie consumption for a 13 twelvemonth old kid that weighs ninety lbs is about 13 100 Calories each twenty-four hours. A McDonlad’s cheeseburger happy repast with a low fat milk as a drink has about seven hundred Calories. That is half of the sum of Calories that is needed in o ne twenty-four hours. On top of that most kids these yearss aren’t exerting at all and all of those Calories turn straight into fat. Fast nutrient in general is so unhealthy for your organic structure and if it was cut out wholly. the figure of corpulent kids would be reduced dramatically. There are so many factors that play into why kids are going so corpulent. but eating excessively many nutrients that are high in Calories and fat is the figure one ground why they are so corpulent. Most people in the universe concern about the manner they look when they look in the mirror. They will make anything to do themselves look skinnier and do themselves look more attractive. Cipher every concerns about what is traveling on inside of their organic structure. Most Americans do non recognize that being overweight or corpulent can hold some serious negative wellness effects on the organic structure. There are so many facets of life that are affected by fleshiness. Your metamorphosis. wellness of your musculuss. castanetss. variety meats. and other parts of your organic structure can be greatly affected when you are at an unhealthy weight. In the article Obesity in America: Large Parts. Large Proportions. the writer negotiations about some of the wellness hazards that are involve d with fleshiness. Some of the wellness hazards are coronary artery disease. bosom onslaughts. high blood force per unit area. shots. diabetes. many signifiers of malignant neoplastic disease. degenerative arthritis. fatty liver. and depression ( Large Portions. Large Proportions 2006 ) . Fleshiness can finally take to a shorter life span from the wellness hazards. It is obvious from this article that there are some major wellness hazards from fleshiness that can impact your organic structure in a really negative manner. It is of import that people take attention of their organic structures so that they can populate happy and healthy life styles. A immense portion of the childhood fleshiness job is that the kids have no thought what they are making to their organic structures by non exerting and holding unhealthy diets. The writer of this paper had the chance to educate kids on the proper nutrition and recommended hours of exercising daily through a service larning undertaking that was completed with the aid of a in-between school from their hometown. Service acquisition is defined as a method of learning and larning that integrates meaningful community service with direction and contemplation to enrich the acquisition experience. learn civic duty. and strengthen comm unities ( What is Service-Learning. 2008 ) . The writer was given the opportunity to beef up the community and inform immature kids about the dangers of fleshiness. The writer did so by making an enlightening booklet that the rule of Rosa Parks Middle School Dr. Donna Redmond Jones enjoyed and agreed to manus out to pupils around the school. The booklets were besides made available in the wellness room where pupils can merely come in and pick one up. In finishing the service larning undertaking. the writer was able to derive a batch of cognition on fleshiness. more significantly the wellness hazards and ways to forestall them. The writer besides gained the fulfilment that he had informed immature pupils about these hazards and was able to profit the community. The service undertaking was finally successful because the writer was able to re-teach the cognition that he had gained from research to the kids that the research was approximately. The information that has been provided in this paper demonstrates how a deficiency of exercising. watching excessively much telecasting. and eating excessively many nutrients high in Calories and fat. has lead to the fleshiness epidemic that is in America today. The figure of corpulent kids in American is an absurd figure. Children in America these yearss don’t worry about their image and their weight every bit much as they used to. All they are disquieted about is what Television show they are traveling to watch next. what video game they are traveling to play. and what type of fast nutrient they are traveling to eat today. The thought of traveling outside and exerting neer crosses their head. If parents gave their kids a small motive to acquire involved in athleticss and exerting. the figure of corpulent kids in America would diminish well. Parents don’t motivate their childs because they are making the same exact thing as them. Not merely are at that place a batch of corpulent kids in America. but there are an unbelievable sum of corpulent grownups every bit good. Childs are prone to larn from what their parents do and inherit the bad wonts that they have. So therefor if a parent is eating fatty nutrients and sitting around watching Television all twenty-four hours. their kids will make the same thing. There are so many wellness hazards that can come from fleshiness that you would believe people would be more disquieted about it. Make people non pay attending to the warnings and wellness hazards? Do they non truly care about the manner they look and the negative effects that it can hold on the organic structure? The prevalence of engineering in America has changed the universe greatly. It has made things so much easier. but in bend it has made Americans so much lazier. Everything can be done from a place on the sofa without holding to acquire up at all. Watching excessively much telecasting. deficiency of exercising. and eating excessively many nutrients that are high in Calories and fat are the three biggest factors that play into the sum of corpulent kids these yearss. but there are a ton of factors that play into why Americans are so fleshy. Something demands to be done about this epidemic before we see more serious side effects from fleshiness. Mentions La Merrill. M. . A ; Birnbaum. L. S. ( 2011 ) . User modeling Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1000 words

User modeling - Essay Example User modeling is one of the main techniques regarding assessment of user requirements, needs and features that they want in the new system. In several systems we need to embed some features those are targeted to only that particular class of the users. This report is also targeting a particular class of users to module, design, and develops the system. The user model holds the intact data and information that the system recognizes regarding the user. It is normally initialized either by means of default values or through questioning the user. After that, it is retained through the system, while the user can be capable to weigh up as well as edit their profile. User procedures and actions at a variety of abstract levels, like that task achievement, mouse clicks as well as requirements for assistance, are described through the user interface or foundation user application to the client profile. An analysis of these attributes incorporates the user profile using further models of the system to get hold of innovative or new "facts" regarding the user. This analysis is able to renovate the user profile by means of the resulting particulars or start an accomplishment in the application (Tecnodiscap, 2004). User modeling corresponds to the latest built user interface design. Equally spotlight on user requirements, as well as normally employ a wide-ranging research for the project domain. In customary user idea design, though, the effect is a particular user interface specified at system design time, while user modeling intended for adaptive edges construct a set of rules and models for building the user interface on run time. At the time of the system development, system designers model the system user individuality to be captured with the discrepancy of the user interface (Martà nez-Normand, 2007). In this section I will develop a user model for a particular user. Here we will assume that person facing difficulties in using a computer. Here I will create a

Should loved one be moved to a nursing home Research Paper

Should loved one be moved to a nursing home - Research Paper Example This paper intends to answer my curiosity by discussing the issues that compel people to move their loved ones to nursing homes while focusing on certain questions related to the topic which include: Do the loved ones enjoy being in nursing homes? What effect does this have on the relationship? Does this improve the concept of life in the eyes of the elderly? I have always wanted to know if we manage to improve the life quality of our loved ones once we move them to nursing homes. Thomas (1996), a physician in family medicine and geriatrics, talks about his experience in the nursing home and states that his experience was â€Å"like a dose of castor oil† and â€Å"extremely unpleasant† (p.xii). He writes that he saw his patients getting weaker, sicker, and frustrated as time passed by, and the only excitement in their lives was when some companion died and another replaced him. No matter how much advancement the setting of nursing homes has seen in modern times, still t he thought of being admitted to nursing homes for good is haunting for the elderly for fear of â€Å"loss of privacy† and â€Å"segregation from the outside world† (Johnson & Grant, as cited in Baker, 2007, p.32). This is naturally unimaginable how we can make our loved ones move to a place which, as research suggests, is likely to hinder with their improvement in lifestyle. Now let’s discuss what effect does doing so has on the adult children’s care giving experiences and the relationship between the two parties. Harris (1998) conducted in-depth interviews with 30 sons of elderly parents who had been moved to nursing homes due to dementia. His research focused on sons’ care giving experiences and has concluded that they became more dutiful and responsible toward their parents, going an extra mile for them and arranging professional healthcare setting to ensure their health improvement. They learnt how to devise coping strategies and build relation ships with siblings. Smith and Bengtson (1979) also conducted a research on institutionalized elderly parents and found that the parents and their children reported that their relationships and ties got stronger with the elderly moved to the nursing homes. â€Å"The data suggest that institutional care can serve to enhance family relations, particularly when family ties have been strained by the needs of the older member† (Smith & Bengtson, 1979, p.438). Another important issue is regarding how the perception of the elderly toward life modifies in nursing homes. Hjaltadottir and Gustafsdottir (2007) conducted a research with the eight frail but lucid elderly residing in two nursing homes in Iceland and examined how they perceived the phenomenon of life in that setting. They found that the participants looked at life as a concern for securing their bodies, searching for comfort, preparing for leaving the world, and affirming their inner selves. The participants reported they e njoyed delightful time alone with their own thought and their self-built imaginary world. Their life had turned meaningful to them. â€Å"These aspects of life in a nursing home contribute to living in a meaningful world in which humanity is preserved†, concluded the researchers (p.48). I found from this project that although it is hard for the loved ones and also for the family to
